Lanaverre (FRA)

Active: 1955 – 1976

Although the company had been in existence since 1944, the boat building enterprise began in 1955 with collaboration of Lucien Lanaverre, and Christian Maury, the designer of the 420, the boat that put Lanaverre on the map. They began first by building wood 505's, but soon afterwards, Lanaverre became one of the pioneers of GRP boat construction (largely through innovations developed by Maury). At it's peak, Lanverre employed 250 workers and sold more than 40,000 boats.\r\nA few years after a merger that had formed an umbrella firm, Yachting France, the Lanaverre company was sold and the brand retired in 1976.
